A tranquil back road creek located in Waterford, Pennsylvania inspired this painting. It is a winter scene; however, the water is warmer than the air, creating a gentle steam. Paluh’s painting “Winter’s Breath” shows off the bright whites the snow has to offer and yet offers a warmer white shade to enable the viewer’s eyes to remain at rest.
“Some of my fondest winter memories are those crisp mornings where frost has crystallized nature's beauty. On these mornings, winter casts its breath upon the sleeping earth and trees and transforms the landscape into a shimmering wonderland.”
